Pre-treatment

• Avoid using aspirins or blood thinning medication for at least 10 days before treatment.
• Arrive with the area to be treated without make up (if it’s a facial cyst or blemish)
• I will apply numbing cream to the area pre treatment so that you remain comfortable and pain free throughout. 

Post Treatment

• Avoid Touching the Area: Refrain from touching the treated area with dirty hands to minimize the risk of infection. If you need to touch the area, ensure your hands are clean. 

• Use Recommended Topical Treatments: Savlon is a good antiseptic cream which can be applied post treatment

• Keep the area dry: a scab will form post treatment. Try not to get the scab too wet as this can make it soft or remove it, which will prolong the treatment time and may increase the risk of scarring. Pat the area dry – do not rub.
• No rubbing: don’t let clothing or facial masks rub on the treated area, as this can impede healing and may cause an infection.

• Avoid Sun Exposure: Protect the treated area from direct sunlight and UV exposure. Use sunscreen with a high SPF to prevent hyperpigmentation and scarring.

• Avoid Makeup and Harsh Products: Refrain from applying makeup or using harsh skincare products or alcohol based products on the treated area until it has fully healed. 

• Minimize Physical Activity: Limit strenuous physical activity for a few days to reduce the risk of irritation and potential trauma to the treated area.

• Do Not Pick or Scratch: It’s crucial not to pick at or scratch the treated area, as this can lead to scarring and infection.

• Follow Up with me: Keep me informed of your healing progress. Send me photos so that I can check that all is well and let me know immediately if you have any concerns.

• Watch for Signs of Infection: Keep an eye out for signs of infection, such as increased redness which may start to track, swelling, warmth, or discharge from the treated area. If you suspect you have an infection, please visit your GP without delay to get antibiotics.

• Try to stop smoking: smoking can increase the risk of infection.
