Plasma Pen Fibroblast Treatment in Yarm, Teesside
Plasma pen, sometimes called fibroblast, is an advanced, non surgical skin tightening and skin rejuvenation service that is particular suited to tightening skin above and below the eyes, around the mouth, on the forehead, the neck, the decolletage, the abdomen – in fact, anywhere there is loose skin or wrinkle formation.
New!! I have now upgraded my pen to the latest Plagen (Plaxel +) Plasma Pen and you can read more about this pen and the easier healing here.
What does Plasma Pen do?
Plasma pen harnesses plasma to instantly vapourise and carbonise skin in a pin point dot pattern. This has two beneficial effects to the skin. The first is skin tightening – as the tiny holes heal, the skin closes across them and this produces the skin tightening effect. The second is fibroblast proliferation.
A fibroblast is a skin cell that proliferates when there is injury to the skin, as part of the healing process. Fibroplasts create collagen, which gives the skin its strength and elastin, which gives the skin its elasticity. On average, the fibroblast proliferation occurs between four and six weeks after the initial treatment. This is genuine skin renewal, not a masking of the aging process, and the results are long lasting.
How many treatments will I need?
Skin tightening will be achieved with each treatment and improvements are usually seen. However, very loose skin will need more treatments than younger skin with less sagginess. For a non surgical treatment, the results are amazing but it is not as effective as a surgical blepharoplasty.
How long do the results last?
The results will last as long as it takes the skin to age again – they do not wear off like Botox or fillers. Even when the skin starts to sag again, it will still look better than if you had never had the treatment – I call it “putting a loop in the timeline”. The results tend to last longer in younger skin and less time in older skin. Nevertheless, great results can still be achieved in older skin.
Note, the results are still good in smokers but they may not last as long. Smoking is generally a very bad idea for the skin – it stiffens up the blood vessels that send nutrients and remove waste products from the skin. HRT, on the other hand, is good for the skin as oestrogen is used in the synthesis of collagen. Results are likely to last longer in older people if they are on HRT.
Does the treatment hurt?
Numbing cream is used to minimise any discomfort. It’s usually very effective, as evidenced by the number of repeat customers I get for this treatment.
Is there anyone for whom the treatment is not recommended?
If you have severe diabetes you should not have this treatment. It is also not recommended for darker skins as they may hyperpigment.
Does the plasma pen have any other uses?
Yes, it can be used to remove cysts, warts, age spots, skin tags, cherry angiomas and other lesions. See the article here.
