Plagen Plaxel + Plasma Pen Fibroblast Treatment - Before and Aftercare
Pre-treatment
- Avoid using aspirins or blood thinning medication for at least 10 days before treatment.
- Arrive for your appointment make up free and without false eye lashes of any type if you are having treatment to the eyelid area.
- I will apply numbing cream to the area pre treatment so that you remain comfortable and pain free throughout.
Post Treatment
- When the local anaesthetic cream wears off, the area will feel as though it has mild sunburn.
- Dry healing is fine. However, if you prefer you can use a light antibacterial cream such as Savlon to soothe the area afterwards and reduce redness, or just dab it on gently if it feels too sore or tight. Make sure you wash your hands first.
- Balneum Plus Cream can also soothe the area and safely be applied after 48 hours.
- If the eyes have been treated, the area will swell, peaking at around days 2-3. This is normal. Please don’t worry about it. Some people swell more than others, but it is not unusual for the upper lids to swell when the lower lids are treated and vice versa. For this reason, I do not usually treat the upper lids and lower lids at the same time.
- Avoid getting the area wet post treatment. Do not rub, scratch or pick the area. To wash the area, splash on water and pat dry – do not rub. Ideally, it’s best to keep the area dry until the scabs start to fall off, as water can soften the scabs and make them come off early.
- You must wear Factor 50 sunblock for 3 months following treatment. Allowing the skin to catch the sun can cause hyperpigmentation.
- Avoid using any alcohol based products.
- For the next four weeks after treatment, avoid chemical peels, skin needling, microdermabrasion, IPL, or laser treatments on the treated areas.
- You can resume normal activities straight away, although it is best not to exercise, bathe or get into a sweat for the first 12 hours after treatment.
- In general it is recommended that you use a serum that contains hyaluronic acid and at least 20% vitamin C under your usual moisturiser. It is always a good idea to consume a diet high in Vitamin C to help your skin to look the best it can, or take an oral supplement.
- Try to stop smoking or reduce the number of cigarettes you smoke. Smoking can reduce the blood supply to the skin.
- I love to see photos of your healing, so please send me them if possible, ideally every day for the first 5 days and then weekly. When I see the photos I can also reassure you that what you are experiencing with the healing is normal..
